"BIRAČ" is located in the Industrial zone of Zvornik, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is connected by highroad and railway connection eastwards with Šabac and Belgrade, and westwards with Tuzla - Doboj - Banja Luka, as well as by highroads in the direction of south toward Sarajevo and in the direction of north toward Brčko and Bijeljina. "BIRAČ" started its production on 6th October 1978 when Alumina Factory was released into operation. In the period between 1984 and 1989, "BIRAČ" took a special care for alumosilicate chemistry development during which five plants were built and released into operation, which beside raw material resources used Alumina factory's infrastructure. "BIRAČ", in its immediate surroundings, has available all the necessary raw materials, i.e. bauxite and quartz sand, and supplying with energy is fully assured. "BIRAČ" also possesses its own thermo-electric power plant, as well as workshops for process equipment and techniques maintaining. ALUMINA 600.000 tons per annual "BIRAČ"s production program
